Summary: Keeps building and premises clean and orderly by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Service, clean, or supply rest rooms.
Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas.
Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floor.
Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
Make adjustments or minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, or electrical systems.
Mow or trim lawns or shrubbery, using mowers or hand or power trimmers, and clean debris from grounds.
Dusts furniture and equipment.
Polishes metalwork.
Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays.
Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
Replenishes bathroom supplies.
Replaces light bulbs.
Cuts and trims grass, and shovels snow.
Transports small equipment or tools between departments.
Sets up tables and chairs in hall.
Makes local pick-ups for supplies, parts, mail, and etc.

Knowledge
Understand the principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes meeting quality standards for services and understanding the meaning of customer satisfaction.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Knowledge of and the ability to use the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
Active listening – giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
Providing information to supervisors and co-workers by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software and Word Processing software.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license.
Other Skills and Abilities
Able to pass Straight Arrow’s forklift certification.
